From its early days as a major transportation and trade route for Native American tribes, to its current status as a recreational and economic hub, Lake Champlain has always been an essential part of Vermont's history and culture.

The Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is home to a wide range of exhibits. Interactive displays highlight the various aspects of the lake's history and its role in the development of the region. One of the museum's most popular exhibits is a replica of the Revolutionary War gunboat Philadelphia II

It was built by the museum's team of dedicated volunteers and craftsmen. The museum also has a working shipyard where visitors can watch boat builders at work. Curious visitors can learn about traditional techniques used to build and repair wooden boats.
