I’m really missing Vermont right now as I am working in Thailand for awhile. Unfortunately, I’m missing the best parts of the year in VT, including cool summer breezes on the Burlington Waterfront and a cold Switchback draft at Cucina Antica in Shelburne. The used but expensive racing bike that I bought during the big sale at the Ski Rack is probably collecting dust in my garage right now along with my trusted steed – the Toyota Camry.
It seems that many of us native Vermont boys (and girls) always take our Green Mountain homes for granted while we are there. Boredom sets in at times but what a wonderful place to be bored! I haven’t been to Shelburne Museum even once this year. In the past years, I walked the grounds almost daily. I’m in a foreign land now that is hot and as alien as another planet. Some call Thailand a vacation paradise but I wouldn’t give 2 cents for it compared to my home in Vermont.
