Vermont Fall Foliage

Autumn Colors in Vermont

Autumn is brief but beautiful in Vermont. The Northeast Kingdom is usually the earliest to reach peak colors as the rest of the state gradually succumbs to the vibrant, warm fall hues. Fall foliage season is the time of year that everyone anticipates and hopes will bring forth spectacular reds and orange colors. Some years are better than others, manily due to the amount of summer rainfall.

For many Vermonters, autumn is the best time of year. It's a nice end to a hot summer and time to relax. Vacations are over, the kids are back in school and although no one really wants to think about it, some of us start getting prepared for the winter months. I would gladly trade the all too brief Vermont foliage season for the endlessly long Vermont winters!
