Vermont Fall Foliage - Autumn Colors in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom
Autumn is brief but beautiful in Vermont. The Northeast Kingdom is usually the earliest to reach peak colors as these photos from September 30, 2006 illustrate.
For many Vermonters, autumn is the best time of year. It's a nice end to a hot summer and time to relax. Vacations are over, the kids are back in school and although no one really wants to think about it, some of us start getting prepared for the winter months. I would gladly trade the all too brief Vermont foliage season for the endlessly long Vermont winters!
